Now that the torrential rains have stopped, JG and I ventured out in the backyard this afternoon during BT's nap. It's beautiful back there; everything is luscious and green. And most beautiful of all, the loquat tree in our neighbor's yard is starting to fruit! (click on picture to enlarge)
Loquats are the most delicious, delectable fruit imaginable. When they're in season, we gorge ourselves on them daily. Part of our neighbor's tree hangs over into our yard, so we can get some from there. There's also a loquat tree on our church property (I haven't seen any fruit starting there yet, but I'll check again Sunday), and there's a tree that partly hangs over the parking lot of the McDonald's next door to DL and CL's school. Those were our major sources last year.
They usually reach full ripeness starting in late winter and continue through most of spring. I'm counting the days!
