PPJ WEB RING IS BACK UP

I don't know how, I don't know why, but at some point the Pro-Lifers for Peace and Justice web ring had been closed out by webring.com.  It was somehow merged into another pro-life ring that was (gasp!) inclusive to everyone, not just liberals.

But I have rectified the situation!  The PPJ ring is back.  If you were previously a member of the ring, or if you are a pro-life liberal and wish to join, this is your invitation.  I think all you have to do is click over to this page to get started.  Your site doesn't have to be a blog; it doesn't even have to talk about pro-life issues or politics or anything.  If you yourself are a pro-life liberal, we would love for you to join.  Thanks.

CALIFORNIANS SPEAK OUT FOR INTERNET FREEDOM

From BoingBoing:

Diane Feinstein constituents - say no to banning MP3 streaming!
A Pledgebank campaign is looking for constituents of California Senator Diane Feinstein to sign on to vote against her if she keeps on supporting the PERFORM act, which will ban MP3 streaming and mandate DRM for Internet audio. Link

I'm passing this along for anyone who is interested in signing the pledge.  But I feel like it would be a bit dishonest for me to sign it myself since I am already determined to vote against Feinstein.  She sealed her fate with me when she signed on to the Iraq War resolution.

NOT IMPRESSED WITH LIVE365.COM

At least not their early music station.  This is the third time I've heard the Pachelbel Canon in 24 hours.  When you've got a few hundred years of music to choose from, I expect better than this.

COOL IDEA: GOOGLE-SEARCH-BOMBING

I quote Daniel from Key Words, a libertarian homeschooling blog:

It's pretty common knowledge by now that the Department of Justice is trying to get a list of what people are using as search terms from Google . . . I figure this is actually an opportunity to send a message to the DOJ.

I propose getting as many people to send a search term to Google as possible. I thought of a few, but I'm more than willing to consider others! Here's what I came up with so far:

"DOJ: Ever hear of the Fourth Amendment?"
"STOP INVADING MY PRIVACY!"
"Alberto R. Gonzales can Kiss My @$$"
"How Many DOJ Employees Does It Take to Change A Light Bulb?"

I think this is a great idea.  In Daniel's comments section I voted for the first search term, the one about the Fourth Amendment.

I hope this idea gets as much airplay as the last thing I linked to from Key Words.

WEIRDEST SEARCH SO FAR

This morning someone came to my site looking for this.  Huh?

TECHNICAL DIFFICULTIES

My computer is sick.  Until it's fixed, blogging will be limited to times that I can get to my mother's office.

PPJ WEBSITE CHANGES

I've added some aggregating code on the Pro-Lifers for Peace and Justice web site!

I don't know if that news will be exciting to anyone but me.  But up until now, I've been going through all of the member blogs and adding links to their recent posts to our homepage by hand.  This was beyond tedious, especially when Dave, our most prolific blogger, would get on a roll.  But praise be, I have figured out how to let these handy little gadgets called computers do the updating for me.  Now that I'm not typing up the titles and inserting links to everyone's posts, I may have some time to actually read more of them.

By the way, if any of you (any of you who are pro-life liberals, of course) want to write an article to include on the web page, please send it to me.  I also want to start a links page, so give me suggestions for links.

Technical difficulties at PPJ

This morning I've been trying to update the Pro-Lifers for Peace and Justice home page to add the links for the last few days of writings from our member bloggers.  Bravenet is acting up and half of the page got eaten.  I have a backup of the rest of it, but I can't get it to save the file.  So I really don't know when I'll be able to share everybody's words of wisom with the rest of the world.

Does anyone have any opinions about Bravenet?  Are they about as good as can be expected for free web hosting, or should I consider shopping around?  Any advice is appreciated.

UPDATE: The page is fixed.  It appears that the problem was not with Bravenet, but with my computer.  The old girl is really slowing down.  Once I got on my mom's computer (where I am now), everything was fine.  Now I have to figure out if my PC can be brought up to speed and what that would cost me.  sigh

UPDATES TO PPJ WEBSITE

I've added some stuff to the Pro-Lifers for Peace and Justice website.  All the members of the webring are now listed in the sidebar.  I've also put in a section with links to all the relevant posts that PPJ bloggers have written in the last week or so.  I'll be updating it regularly, so keep writing!

And if you're a pro-life liberal, join the webring!
