Looks like there's a pattern here . . .
There was this:
McCain, Romney acrimony dates back to the Olympics
And now this:
A contentious relationship between Mr. McCain, Republican of Arizona, and Mr. Obama, Democrat of Illinois, has been percolating on Capitol Hill for more than two years.
Mr. McCain seems to have a talent for getting on people's bad side (and then having to compete against them later for a job).
Yeah, he seems like one cranky dude. I wouldn't vote for him anyway, but with the new lobbyist scandal out there, I think he seems clueless, too. Either he did mess around with this gal, which seems dumb for someone pushing ethics reform and conservative "values," or he is just tone-deaf to the implications of spending so much time around an attractive lobbyist. Either way, not qualities we want in a leader. Of course, this is the same guy who had to ask an aide to bring him a report from Tom Coburn so he could answer a reporter's question on whether condoms cut the risk of STDs. Again, clueless.

I hadn't heard about the condom snafu before, so I just looked it up right now. WOW!! He takes cluelessness to a whole new level!
If I was going to read anything into his character about that, it would appear that he has trouble seeing past the end of his own nose. If he is monogamous and not worried about getting AIDS himself, he doesn't bother to learn about what's going on in other people's lives.
I am one of the most straight-laced, clean-living people you will ever meet, but I still learn all I can about STDs, teen pregnancy, addiction, abusive relationships, and all kinds of things that will probably never touch me personally. If he calls himself a public servant, he needs to know what's going on with the public.
